and they have a shop open selling coffee but no toilets !
and above they have taken a WHOLE FLOOR

but no more large studios big enough for music after Pebble Mill closes, whee I recorded in a couple of brass band competitions.

>>The BBC is taking 100000sq feet of space on two floors to accommodate staff currently employed at Pebble Mill. There will radio and television studios and also a public access foyer from where licence fee payers will be able to see broadcasting in action.

Six new lettings have been secured to complete the retail line-up at Birmingham's Mailbox development. The designer French maternity-wear retailer Formes has taken a 1,200 sq ft (111 sq m) unit,
next to Gieves & Hawkes, while other new tenants include the
Iron Bed Company,
the Chair Company,
European furniture design specialist Domus Optima,
Nottingham-based china, glass and homewares retailer Table Works
and Jaeger Man. Base rents are £35/sq ft (£376.74/sq m) plus 10%-15% of turnover."

map shows part of my route

I walked along the tow path past the new Birmingham then Gas Street
and Broad street - to symphony hall and a TOILET .

I wished I had my camera - the image in the brilliant low wintwer sunlight on the great ferris wheel from Paris reflected in the glass facade of Symphony hall blew me away

I continued allong the purple line
pats the site of the burnt fibre glass statues - no loss
the war memorial with its no skate board signs, and spoilers on the low wall.

got a snack under the Central library in a tiny "kiosk" and ate it on a bench in Chamberlain square where there was a badly shaped ice rink, with no good skaters.

You should see the Danes on ice in the square in Copenhagen

Pictures of Copenhagen - Billeder af København: "I used to live in a top-floor apartment in the heart of the city of Copenhagen in Denmark. The view of Kongens Nytorv and Nyhavn was great.
Kongens Nytorv means the King's New Square - never mind it being a circle. [actually a new parade ground for his soldiers ]" which makes a pefect ice rink in the winter !

Along Stroget, Copenhagen

=============================================

so I walked down New Street past then Meeting Street to my 97 bus
