Godfrey Memorial Library: "A Brief History of the Library
The Godfrey Memorial Library was opened and dedicated on May 6, 1951. It was named in memory of Grace (Godfrey) Rider and her brother Brig. Gen. Stuart Chapin Godfrey by A. Fremont Rider, founder of the library. The Library has a small endowment income, but no funds from the city, county, state, or federal government finance the continuation of the Library. "
