goodbye to
Johannes (Stress) Kristoffersen
his funeral is at Køge Krematorium
on FridayAugust 27 2004 at 1400
Parkvej 1
Krematoriegrunden ligger på hjørnet af Ringvejen - Ringstedvej - Parkvej.
Indkørsel af Parkvej.
Stress was born January 9, 1926
and got his nickname as a child
because he looked like a well known german politician he told me.
After the german occupation of Denmark it was difficult to go to sea and see the world, he said to me,
and so his sense of adventure led him and some other young men from Køge to join the British Army as a Gunner (nicknamed Stoffer)
no 1419 5666
He served 27 months Bet. 1946 - 1949
44 Field Regiment Royal Artilery
Canterbury and served in Germany and Palestine.
He worked at Køge gummifabrik
and in 1955 lived at Gyrelvej 17 Køge
He married Margit who died in 2002
and they had two children Jan and Jette
When I started on his family history, because he was my wife's uncle,
he was very helpful and informative.
He had a long term chronic illness and did very well to live so long as he did.
His Køge garden was always ful of flowers, neat and well tended
He was one of eight brothers and sisters and only Kirsten Kristoffersen. the youngest, remains.

has some family papers and photographs from an older generation.
