from my email:- [SoG-NEWS]

I have received the following warning from a member this morning:-

There are notices up at TNA to the effect that it will be closed this Friday
(5 Nov) for one day on account of Industrial Action - or inaction. I assume
that the this will also apply to the FRC.

Regards,

Peter.

I would suggest that anybody thinking of going to The National Archives
(PRO) at Kew or to the FRC in Myddelton Street, check that they are open
before going this Friday.

Details may well appear on Family Records Centre - Homepage or phone 0208
392 5300 before Friday.

Friday 5th November
Public and Commercial Services Union (PCS) has notified the government that a 24 hour national strike will take place on Friday 5th November. It is expected that a number of FRC staff will take industrial action on the day. We hope that the FRC will be open as normal on Friday, but there are likely to be few staff present to assist customers.
