Step 1. Identify what you know about your family.
Step 2. Decide what you want to learn about your family.
Step 3. Select records to search .
Step 4. Obtain and search the record.
Step 5. Use the information.
Follow the money trail !
who paid for the child's maintenance ?
how did the ownership or soveriegnity of land change?
What were the consequences of the crime and of the punishment?
