mvh Jens V. Olsen

who are the officials expected to attend?

Please tell then I regret I cannot come because I am in England
(I was not invited)
the aim of these pages:-

(1)
One place study of Brumleby AKA Københavns Lægeforeningens Boliger
http://www.rootsweb.com/~dnkcen/brumleby/index.html
is for local historians
and for my neighbours to enable them to see who used to live in their lejlighed
many years ago

In fact it would be better served by editing and cutting the images to match each block as a gif
am I allowed to do that as academic "fair use" provided I quote the source?

I plan to link to all the Brumleby census folketælling
as the years go by and eventually transcribe those in the Riksarkiv for that Matrnr. which are not yet filmed

Links to the St Jacobs Østerbogade Kirkebog
such images should obviously be a normal part of any local history site

(2)
Bedsted sogn Hassing herred Thisted amt small
new small file formatted as marked up text - frames take too much bandwidth
http://www.rootsweb.com/~dnkcen/bedsted/ft-1840small.html

This is my first KIP file saved as csv
and translated as text to help non speakers of danish learn to read the basics of using folketæling
they are mostly descendants of Danes living in USA for generations and whose families no longer speak Danish

they also come to Denmark as tourists and so help the danish economy.
again a revisd version ofthis page would cut the images up into households
and reformat

This index is in Randers lokal archive
I made the site because the provision of finding aids (indexes) for Randers was so poor at the Riksarkivet film room
Randers Census Folketælling master index FT-1860 and names http://www.rootsweb.com/~dnkcen/randers/ft-1860/xx.html

(3b)
these are from transcriptions of the index images at the start of each volume

Randers Census Folketælling master index FT-1787
http://www.rootsweb.com/~dnkcen/randers/ft-1787/index.html
Randers Census Folketælling master index FT-1801
http://www.rootsweb.com/~dnkcen/randers/ft-1801/index.html
Randers Census Folketælling master index FT-1840
http://www.rootsweb.com/~dnkcen/randers/ft-1840/index.html
Randers Census Folketælling master index FT-1855 under construction
http://www.rootsweb.com/~dnkcen/randers/ft-1855/index.html

my aims are that Randers school children could easily see who used to live in their house,
and danish descendants in USA (for example) should have easy access to their kulturarv
cultural heritage.

FT 1787, Odense, Bjerge, Kølstrup
http://www.rootsweb.com/~dnkcen/amt/odense/bjerge/koelstrup/ft-1787/index.html
this was a thank you from a user who said the Randers index saved her 2 years of work

(5)
any kip file saved as csv could be converted into an online index linked to images

(6)
http://www.rootsweb.com/ is a selvejende institution paid for by ancestry.com myfamily inc when the original donors ran out of money
RootsWeb is funded and supported by Ancestry.com and our loyal RootsWeb community

"RootsWeb - the Internet's oldest and largest FREE genealogical community. An award winning genealogical resource with searchable databases, free Web space, mailing lists, message boards, and more."

I have unlimited web space and it would be possible to upload all the kirkebog and folketælling images as a mirror site
at no cost other than time
I would just have to notify the webmaster
notice that dnkcen is short for Denmark + census

(7)
http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/ is the big one
we are 5000 volunters organised into teams

The FreeBMD Database was last updated on Tue 1 Mar 2005 and currently contains 96,662,291 distinct records (115,838,125 total records). (about half way)
On Wed 16 Mar 2005 FreeBMD users did 149,539 searches.

to deal with this we have 5 or 6 other servers
images are now available http://images.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/choose.pl

a mirror free of charge to any user

forside på dansk http://www.rootsweb.com/~dnkcen/da/index.html

OSS-1 - slægtsforskning - FAQ
http://www.rootsweb.com/~dnkcen/OSS/OSS-1.html
OSS - FAQ links på dansk
http://www.rootsweb.com/~dnkcen/OSS/index.html

these are due for expansion and updating
but I need more native speakers of Danish to volunteer to help with this section of the site - again unlimited web space
