Dear Hugh,
It has come to our attention that you have been offering free lookups to records on the Findmypast.com website.
As you may be aware, this contravenes our Terms & Conditions, and we would therefore be within our rights to terminate your subscription immediately. I draw your attention to the Terms & Conditions which are quite clear on this matter:
11.4 You agree not to use or allow the Services to be used for or by any third party to access, or view any Records or download any material or content of any Records, whether on a paid or gratis basis.
We are sure that this is an innocent mistake so we are happy not to take any action for now, but we will be monitoring your account usage and would ask you not to perform any lookups on behalf of others, or offer to do so in future, or we may be forced to suspend your usage of the site or take further action.
I am sure you understand our position – unfortunately, performing lookups for others inevitably pushes up the price for all subscribers, so we cannot allow customers to offer this service to others unless you would like to take out a corporate subscription.
